The Traffic Message Channel (TMC) is a digital radio data service, which transmits information on obstructions and traffic jams. Since the signal will constantly transmitted, the driver depends less on the only half once per hour radio traffic messages. Modern navigation systems use TMC for the automatic by-pass of obstructions (dynamic goal guidance).
